Saint-Julien Clinic

Saint-Julien Clinic

When the doctor behind the St-Julien Clinic for Diabetes & Endocrinology approached Spinnaker, the business didn’t even have a name. Spinnaker lent their expertise in graphic design, corporate-identity creation and web design to help launch this new clinic at Singapore’s Mount Alvernia Hospital.

The name of the practice was selected as a reference to the town of Saint-Julien in France, birthplace of renowned pioneering physician Claude Bernard. Apart from this significance to the founder of the clinic, Spinnaker recommended the name because of its inherent elegance and “franchise-ability.”

The Spinnaker design team created a logo by started with a stylised image of pituitary gland, the master gland at the core of endocrine medicine. Also referenced is the blue circle, which is the universal symbol for diabetes with a further modification to subtly include the Saint-Julien Clinic’s initials–SJC. The final form creates the impression of balance, a tenet of endocrinology. This logo was applied to name cards, letterhead and signage for the clinic as part of the corporate identity scheme.

To create the website within a very limited budget, Spinnaker opted to design the site to make use of the WordPress platform. A degree of additional backend coding was added to the project to deliver a more customised interface.
